1,317 Victim Services Non-Profit Organizations...

Did you know there are 1,317 registered non-profit organizations (501c3 status) in the United States that provide some kind of victim support, resources or guidance? And these are just the non-profits - this does not include the victim support services offered by police, sheriff, and District Attorney offices across the country.

While each one of these non-profits will relate to a specific crime or geographic area, collectively they represent people, volunteers, organizations and funds that provide support, advocacy, prevention, resources and legal advice to victims of crime or injustice (discrimination, civil rights, etc.) and/or the families of victims. Whether you like it or not, there are even rehabilitation organizations/services for offenders as well.

Here is a list of where these non-profits are located (by state). This proves the need to start a tool/database that will allow victims to easily find the resources they need - by location, by type of crime/injustice, by type of support they need (counseling, prevention, financial).
